Cavell Hall
Welcome to Cavell Hall
Cavell Hall is a truly special place to belong and I am so looking forward to starting my next chapter here. I have spent over fifteen years working in education as a Spanish teacher and nearly a decade in boarding, a role I am deeply passionate about. My boarding journey has included serving as Deputy Head of House and, more recently, as joint Head of House in Fry alongside my husband. These roles have allowed me to develop a strong belief in the importance of creating a warm, supportive environment where every student feels part of something bigger than themselves.
Having spent time in Cavell last year, I was struck immediately by the energy and enthusiasm of the students, as well as the genuinely welcoming atmosphere. Cavell is a place where people look out for one another, and that sense of belonging is something I am incredibly proud to be part of. This year, we are building on that strong foundation with an excellent team around us. The addition of Mr Harvey as Deputy Head of House and Mrs McNeil as House Support Assistant brings a wealth of experience, care, and dedication, strengthening the support network for every student in our community.
Family is at the heart of everything I do. My dog Chester is never far behind me, and my daughters, Elisa (Year 8) and Eva (Year 5 at the Prep School), will naturally move between the houses, forming connections with students and adding to the warm, lived-in feel that makes our boarding houses so special to both day and boarding students. Together, this creates a space that feels like a true home rather than simply a house; open, inclusive, and full of life. Strong relationships with parents are equally important, recognising your child’s education as a shared journey and working in partnership to support our young people as they grow, learn, and navigate the highs and lows of adolescence.
Looking ahead, working together with the House Leadership Team, the focus is on strengthening Cavell’s reputation not only for its competitive spirit and ambition, but also for its commitment to developing well-rounded, compassionate individuals. There is a shared dedication to encouraging involvement in charity work, fundraising, and wider community initiatives, alongside the development of essential life skills. The collective aim is to nurture thoughtful, resilient, and altruistic global citizens who are prepared to make a positive contribution to the world.
