Peel Hall - Year 7 Day House
Back in 1995 I started my journey at Wymondham College, as a local boy from Robert Kett Junior School in Wymondham. This was the year Peel Hall opened as a Year 7 house, so like you, all Year 7 students were one cohort in Peel. Fast forward to 2025 and I have the absolute privilege of opening Peel Hall as a brand-new Year 7 Day House.
When I started at the College, I was nervous and a little worried about the challenges of a ‘big school’ and how I was ever going to find my way around such a massive site. My worries were unjustified. The house teams are warm, welcoming and friendly and whether you are a day or boarding student, they are always there to support, guide and encourage you through your high school journey.
I returned to Wymondham College as a Resident Fellow after my university and travelling days were over, and then qualified as a PE teacher in 2012. I gained my first leadership post as Deputy Head of Peel Hall and I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to the wonderful and diverse pastoral experience that Wymondham College has to offer. I am, therefore, so pleased to be returning to Peel as it becomes the Year 7 Day House. I will be joined on the leadership team by my wife Mrs Summers, who also teaches Geography at the College. We will be there at the start and end of each school day and will drive expectations on the behaviour and standards.
Life here is never dull and our ethos is very much centred around our core values – Pride, Passion and Positivity. I want to make the Day House as student focussed as possible and drive forward the musical, sporting, academic and pastoral achievements of all our students, both in and out of the classroom, so they can achieve their very best.
